ABOUT MARLENE CASTAÑOS

Marlene Castaños is an actress, director, producer, speaker, and founder of Divine Spark Films, a Vancouver based production company dedicated to creating consciousness driven content.

 

With a background in psychology, transpersonal psychotherapy, and over twenty five years of spiritual practice and inquiry, her work explores the intersection of art, consciousness, personal transformation, and the human experience through female narratives and underrepresented characters.

 

Her credits include Teresa's Choice, which premiered at the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival, was nominated for Best BC Short Film at the Sundar Prize Film Festival, received the Sector Stories Award at Power 24 International Film Festival, and has screened internationally.

 

She is currently completing her feature documentary, Good to Go, a poetic exploration of how we prepare for death and what it teaches us about living. Developed through the Whistler Film Festival Doc Lab, the film has been supported by Canada Council for the Arts.

 

She is an alumna of the Netflix-BANFF Diversity of Voices Initiative, the Vancouver International Film Festival's Institute of the Moving Image programs, and the Listo Calisto cohort.

 

As a speaker she focuses on spiritual development and authentic living. 

 

As a BIPOC creator with Mexican roots, Marlene is committed to supporting women and underrepresented collaborators while creating artistically compelling films that elevate human consciousness.
